Navel Ring Piercing

Before you decide to actually get your belly pierced, make sure you pick out the ring you want first. That way, you don't overpay at the store or end up with a ring you don't really like as your first ring. Once you have your ring, you want to make sure you get your belly pierced by an accredited professional. DO NOT do this yourself or have a friend do it for you. There are many health concerns when it comes to piercing body parts so don't risk complications just to save some money. Get it done right. In terms of cost, it will vary but should run around $30. When it comes to pain, it depends on your skin and how the person is piercing your belly. Do not get this done with a piercing gun due to infection reasons.

Below is a video showing the procedure. Again, the pain depends on the person.

Infections and Care Info

When you choose the ring, the type of metal you choose could cause you to become infected. In general, avoid gold. Either get titanium or bioplast. Once you get the piercing, it may take anywhere from 6 months to over a year for it to fully heal. For some women, they can still be bleeding every now and then even years after the procedure is done. This will depend on how the piercing was performed and how well you take care of your belly afterward.

You will want to keep a few things in mind when it comes to caring for your pierced navel. Make sure you keep the area clean. There are some cleaning lotions that are available that you can use to do this. Every time you do something that involves the area being exposed to anything, it's best to clean the surface afterward such as when you workout.

Avoid touching your navel ring or belly. When you first get the ring, since it's new, it'll feel cool and interesting and you may have the urge to play with it. Don't. You can cause it to become infected. If anything, play with your friend's belly ring! Along the same lines, you will want to avoid wearing tight clothing that will hug onto the belly. It's better to wear some looser clothing or even shirts that will reveal your belly.

Remember that if you start to see some type of irritation or infection, play it safe and seek a professional. It's better to be safe than sorry.
