Is the Magnetic Bracelet Worth It?

By

For many people, magnetic bracelets are seen as a way to heal the body of certain aches and pains and even illnesses. For others, they are seen as a ridiculous product to scam unsuspecting people into parting with their hard earned money. So do they actually work or not? Should you be getting these or pass on them? This article will talk a little bit about these bracelets and what they can and can't do. If you are considering buying one then you'll want to read the information contained here in order to know which type of bracelets to avoid. By the end of this article, you will hopefully understand a bit more about this product and whether or not getting one is right for you. We will also go into the different types, how much they sell for, and the health benefits, if any.

Do They Work?

That seems to be the question many people wonder whenever they see these things advertised on television or magazines. Companies claim that just by wearing a magnetic bracelet, if you have certain things like arthritis, it will go away. So where did these things come from and who gave people the idea that magnets can have any type of positive health benefits?

It turns out, magnetic therapy has been around for centuries all around the world. For the longest time however, it has been rejected by western society until recently. If you look at the studies that have been conducted over the years, there is proof that some types of magnetic therapy works while others don't. It seems that the effectiveness comes down to the what the main goal is and what type of magnet is being used. These magnet bracelets have been gaining popularity over the past few years mainly due to more advertisements and people swearing by them.

Magnetic Bracelet Health Benefits

So what type of health benefits will you get if you wear these bracelets? One big one, as mentioned earlier, is the reduction of arthritis pain. They way they work is by improving blood circulation by using negative magnets. The main cause of pain is lack of circulation and oxygen. By using magnets, what you are essentially doing is helping the flow of blood as well as oxygen throughout your body and especially where the pain is occurring. Magnets, according to studies, can rejuvenate the cells around the joints reducing clogging and pain. It is said that wearing these bracelets will also help reduce any inflammation as well if worn around the ankles like the ones pictured on the right from Ebay.

Just how long does it take to feel the effects? From what is claimed, anywhere from a few hours to a few days. Some people have seen this to be nothing more than a placebo effect but with so many people using them and seeing great results, it's hard to believe that you can get that type of result on a massive scale merely by believing in it especially when even skeptics have experienced great results.

Buying

When it comes to buying a magnetic bracelet, you can't just buy any. As stated earlier, the tests that were done that shows some working and some not working, part of the reason for some of them not working came down to the strength of magnet. When you buy these bracelets, you want to buy magnets with fields between 170 and 200 mTelsa, the unit if measurement the strength of magnets are measured by.

That being said, it's no surprise that there will be people and companies out there who will sell you cheap or low strength magnets since most people don't know that the strength of the magnets count. When wearing these low quality ones, you will get almost no benefits.

Typically, you will find these magnetic bracelets selling anywhere from $10 to over $100. You have men's magnetic bracelets as well as women's magnetic bracelets. There are different types such as the copper magnetic bracelet and ones made of metal. If you are wanting to buy these to help you reduce certain aches and pains, then there is really no point in buying a cheap one unless they have the right magnetic strength. Just because they cost more, it doesn't mean they are better. Some cost more just because they look nicer.

Also, any company or person that claims that by wearing these bracelets, you will be able to cure yourself from cancer or any other form of illnesses and disease, stay away from them. There is no proof of that. Most likely, if that is what they claim, they are just after your money and hoping that you don't know any better.

Hopefully, you now know a little bit more about these magnetic therapy bracelets. It's one of those things where you will have to try out for yourself to see if they work or not. The results you get, again, will depend on the strength of the magnet as well as the severity of your pain. If you have a very minor arthritis problem for example, it may actually help make it go away. If your pain is severe, it might not do enough for you to feel any difference. The best thing to do is to ask someone you know who has used a magnetic bracelet.

I bought a magnetic bracelet years ago at a flea market - it had very strong magnets - it did seem to help my wrist (carpal tunnel). I have a friend that swears by them.

My suggestion would not only be to ask someone who has tried them, but to try them yourself. Magnetic Therapy works for most people but not all, it isn't a "Magic Cure All" treatment. If it works for you that is great, and if it doesn't then don't give up, try something else.
