The antlers don't always fall off all at once. One side can fall off days before the other one does. If the animal have really heavy antlers, this can mean that it may have to walk around with a tilted head since one side of its head will be heavier.
In the spring, the animal will start growing new antlers. Their antlers can grow quite fast. In elks, it can grow up to 2.5 inches each day. This will happen for about 4-7 months, or around the late summer and early fall time period. These antler lighting can come from different animals like elk, moose, and different types of deer, etc. The cost can depend on what animal the antlers come from. There are differences such as deer and elk antlers being thinner and having more branches than moose antlers for example. So this is why no animals are harmed in its production.
Once these sheds are picked up and collected, they are then taken to factories and sorted according to size and color. After that, they are drilled with holes in order to complete the wiring for the lights. In terms of lights, they can come in different tiers and have different number of lights from a single light to over 20 lights as you can see in some of the pictures down below.

This is really something that is reserved for people who want to make their home look dazzling and luxurious. The prices of authentic antler lightings can cost you several thousands of dollars. The main reason for this is because it's made of real antlers. Also, the time and effort that is put into these things are pretty heavy.

There are instructional videos that will show you how to pick out the right antlers for your project, drilling the holes for the electrical wiring, and the finishing polish to give it a great look. If you're not a hands on type of person but just can't bare to spend thousands of dollars on a antler light fixture, then you can opt to get reproductions which will cost a whole lot less. They may not be the real thing, but they will look real enough to the untrained eye.
