Buying a Purse Organizer
By Mr Awesome
Since my husband talks about organizers in the last hub, I thought I'd write about getting a purse organizer. Sure, having a bunch of mail lying around the house is annoying but having a purse full stuff is also a headache at times. I can't tell you how many times I have had to literally empty out my purse just to find something. I'm one of those types who likes to carry everything with me. So what I did was buy one of those purses that are made to help you organize everything. They are actually pretty useful and handy. There are things I don't like about them and things I do like about them. This article will be mainly about buying one and how much they cost. You can actually get some pretty good looking ones if you look for them.
Let's first talk about where you can find these purse organizers. If you do a search online, you will see a ton of different choices to choose from. You have big purses, small ones, different colors, styles, you name it. The price of these purses can vary depending on what you get since some purses are made better than others. Obviously a leather purse organizer will cost more than one made of some cheap material. If you get one that is made with many pockets and compartments, you can spend around $20-$50 or so. Again, check online and you can see the different prices and variations and style choices that are available.
So if these things help make your life a lot easier, then how come every women doesn't have one. I don't know about you, but I've actually seen these years ago and my first thought was, "These are some ugly grandma purses." The main disadvantage of these things is that many of them simply do not look good. I would think a man designed many of these purses because some of them look awful. I finally decided to get one but I didn't get a whole purse made for the purpose of better organization. I got a purse organizer insert instead.
Purse Organizer Pros / Cons
The great thing about these inserts is that you can use them in your own purses so you don't have to buy any new ones or get stuck having to decided which of the 2 ugly purse organizers or less ugly. You can get these inserts for pretty cheap depending on which one you get. You can get one for as little as $10. Some of them are a bit more expensive since they have different compartments to put all of your makeup, keys, cellphone, etc. I'm sure you have seen those organizer purses advertised on TV where it's basically a pouch that you can transfer from purse to purse.
Now the problem with having a purse organizer for the purpose of making your life easier is that although these things can help make your purse less messy, you actually have to take the time to use them correctly. Even though I have one, I still have the tendency to just throw my stuff in my purse without taking the time to actually put items where they belong. Organization of anything really comes down to you putting the time and getting into the habit of putting things where they belong each and every time.
I can tell you that although I still throw stuff into my purse without a thought, it is still more organized than before. We all have things that we carry in our purse that we don't use all that much like certain lipsticks for example. Or how about those pennies on the bottom of the purse that only serves the purpose of making noise when you shuffle your stuff to find something? Well, with the extra pockets provided, you can store those things there so they don't get in the way. This will help free up more room. The only problem is that with more room, you may tend to want to add more stuff in there.
A purse organizer will only work if you work it. It's not a miracle product that will solve all or your messy problems but it sure does help quite a bit. I am starting to see better looking purses on the market though so you may want to just get a purse with an organization system built in since those inserts do tend to move around in your purse if they are not full enough or if your purse is too big for it. You can also get the really small ones just for your makeup items like eyeliners and eyebrow pencils as well.

I so need an organizer for my purses! lol! But you're right that you definitely need to stay on top of the organization b/c there is that tendency to toss things in there when you're in a hurry! http://sweetandsassygirl.com
