Hamsters are one of those animals that are just adorable. If you are wanting to have a pet but don't want the hassle of having to walk them or deal with the noise they can make such as dogs, then getting a hamster can be the perfect solution. I guess you can opt for a gold fish but let's face it, they are boring. Hamsters can do a lot of cool things so they can definitely be a fun pet to have. If you have a hamster then hamster cages is a must for them. This article will talk a little bit about buying a hamster cage, where to get the best deals, and the different types and choices that you have. Treat them as your friend by getting them a deluxe play area instead of a boring empty cage. Why? Because karma is a funny thing that you don't want to mess with. :)

Importance of Hamster Cages

Just like humans, animals need exercise, most of them anyway. Hamsters are a quite energetic animal and so you will need to provide them a way to release that energy. Since you can't actually take them out for a walk like you can with a dog, you will need to give them something they can run and play around in. This is why it's important to get the right cage for your hamster. They will appreciate it and you will have the benefit of having a healthy pet that will live longer.

When it comes to buying these cages for your hamster, you will have a ton of different choices from styles and sizes. Depending on the size of your hamster, you will want to get a large hamster cage if you have room for it. One that is too small might not be enough space for them to roam around and play in. You can have your choice of color, accessories as well as the material that they are made of.

If you look online, you will see a wider range of choices than if you went to the store. There will be come cages that are very simple in nature. All they have is a feeding area and a few other things. Then there are cages that have a lot of things in them to allow your hamster to play with. You will definitely want to get one that has at least the running wheel to allow your hamster to get the exercise that it needs. Some cages will be built for stationary purpose while others will have a handle so you can easily carry them around in the cage.

In terms of cost, this will greatly depend on the style and size of the cage. Some hamster cages will are built of stronger material and will therefore cost a bit more. You will want to make sure the dimensions of the cages are big enough to fit your hamster if you are looking online. When you are at a store, it's easy to see of course, but online, it may be harder to judge its size. You should expect to spend anywhere between $15 and $100 for a cage.

If you want to find cheap hamster cages, again, look online. You will be able to find a ton a great deals and be able to compare prices between different site fairly quickly. Make sure you keep shipping costs in mind, but even with that included, you can still find them cheaper on the web. You can also check sites like Craigslist to find hamster cages for sale. In terms of brand, there are a lot to choose from but a popular one is the Rotastak hamster cage (pictured here) because of it's design and the different things that it has.

Giving your hamster the gift of a cool cage is the least you can do for such a cute non-high maintenance pet. You can also add to them and build them into bigger contraptions over time. Check out the following video.

Awesome writing style. I found this easy to read.

I totally agree with you to get as big a cage as one can afford in terms of price and space. Hamsters only live for a short time. Let's do our best to give them their 'Best Hamster Life Possible'. :)
